School nurses support student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the school setting. School nurses address the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of all students and supports their achievement in the learning process. School nurses practice in accordance with the NASN core values, NASN Code of Ethics and professional standards of practice. School nurses decision-making is guided by principles that promote improved student health, academic success and excellence in school health services.
