Upcoming Public Information Sessions
The Independence Community School District will host three Bond Information Sessions, where community members can learn more about the proposed projects, ask questions, and review project information.
- September 24th at 6:30 pm | West Elementary
- October 7th at 11 am | Independence Public Library
- October 8th at 6:30 pm | West Elementary
- October 20th at 6:30 pm | West Elementary
- October 21st at 6:30pm | Rowley Community Center
Satellite Voting
A satellite voting site will be available on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 12:30–6:30 p.m. at the Buchanan County Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Absentee Voting
Registered Iowa voters may request an absentee ballot from their County Auditor.
For the November 3, 2026 election, a written request for a mailed absentee ballot must be received by the County Auditor no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026.
Absentee voting in person at the County Auditor’s office begins Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
