2016 Graduation Ceremony Scheduled for Live Stream

May 5, 2016 (Independence, IA) – The Independence Community School District (ICSD) will be live streaming the 2016 Graduation Ceremony scheduled for Sunday, May 22, 2016 in the Jr./Sr. High School.

The graduation ceremony is sure to fill the gym with friends and family of this year’s graduates. For those family members and friends who are unable to attend the commencement, the ICSD is pleased to offer a live video stream of the ceremony for viewing.

The 2016 Commencement is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. The Mustang concert band will be playing before the ceremony starts, around 1:45 p.m. and at this time, the live stream will begin. You can find the live stream feed through the school’s Ustream channel which will be visible on the school’s website and by visiting the link above.

A copy of the live stream will be available for viewing pleasure within a couple days of the event. This recording can be found on the AV Tech YouTube page.

Currently, anyone wishing to view last year’s event can still do so as the 2015 ceremony is on the AV Tech YouTube page.

Auditorium Manager, Travis McBride states, “Because of the vast resources within the Junior Senior high, we are able to further make graduation a day to remember for those able to attend but for those who can’t be at the ceremony, they too can be a part of a student’s big day. The internet and computer technology allows us to do more and more each year. Live streaming the ceremony and also recording it for online playback only fits our district’s progression into further technology usage.”
