Superintendent Russell Reiter states, “The Independence Community School District is very lucky, as PPEL funds and the State One Cent Sales and Service Tax are used for these maintenance and facility improvements. We are fortunate that we don’t have to pull out of the general fund to cover these costs.” Peterson adds, “It is also really valuable to have Chad’s, Tom’s, and Dennis’ expertise. They have the skill set and experience to handle many of these projects themselves.”
