ICSD Holiday Concerts Scheduled for Replay

December 19, 2016 (Independence, IA) – With the holiday season upon us, the Independence Community School District (ICSD) Jr./Sr. High Auditorium has been filled with the sights and sounds of the holidays. Holiday concerts from all grade levels are well underway and community feedback has been outstanding.

The Independence Mustang AV/Tech Club would like to announce that not only can you catch the High School concert in replay this year, you’ll once again, be able to see ALL district concerts. A special thank you to Independence Light & Power, Telecommunications (Indytel) for partnering with the ICSD once again to bring these concerts to viewers at home.

All holiday concerts will be shown on Indytel Public Access beginning on December 23rd around 4:00 PM. It will run on continuous loop on December 24th and 25th.

Auditorium Manager Travis McBride states, “”Response to this year’s concerts has made all the work and preparations worth it. To see more and more community members attending district concerts, some for the first time and some who don’t even have kids in the programs anymore, is validating to all of the students and staff involved. To be able to go one step further and share the concerts on television, radio, and the internet is just an added bonus. We’re excited to be partnering with so many great broadcast groups to make this happen. Their willingness to broadcast us is a testament to the quality of businesses they are but as well to the students who put in the hard work and earned these opportunities.”

The High School Band and Choir Holiday Concert will have a special replay on KCRG 9.2 on the 24th of December at 3:00 p.m. The High School performance will also be broadcast on KMCH 94.7 on Wednesday December 21st at 7 p.m.

Travis McBride notes, “With the high school concert being truly an “extravaganza” utilizing nearly all special effects the auditorium boasts, we ask ourselves each year (for the past 4 years we’ve been in the new auditorium), how do we top this? Much like some of the best and biggest productions in the world, ours starts the very next day after a show. Yes, believe it or not, the music staff, myself and tech assistant Michael Ellis have already discussed plans and designs for next year’s shows. If you missed this years, considering coming next year as the shows continue to evolve!”
