ICSD to Host Volleyball Regionals
October 14, 2013(Independence, IA) – The High School Activities Director, Rob Arnold, is extremely pleased to announce that the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has awarded Independence the honor of hosting 2 Regional Volleyball Tournament Games. Due to lack of seating and parking at the old gymnasium, the Mustangs were never able to host events of this size in the past. But now, with a 17,500 square foot gymnasium that includes a press box and suites at the new Jr. / Sr. High School, the district has the opportunity to do so.
The Mustangs will host rounds 1 and 2 for Region 7 of the Regional Volleyball Tournament. The games are on Monday, Oct. 28th at 7:00 pm and Thursday, Oct. 31st at 7:00 pm. Independence will play Waterloo Columbus in the opening round. The winner of that match will play on Thursday, October 31 against the winner of the Anamosa/Beckman match. - Thursday, Oct. 31st: from 6 pm – 8 pm: 1 cash taker, 2 ticket takers, and 2 score table workers.
All workers will get into the match for free.
