ICSD Introduces Mr. Reed
October 7, 2016 (Independence, IA) – The Independence Community School District (ICSD) is pleased to introduce Todd Reed. Todd has filled the role of Talented and Gifted (TAG) teacher for 3rd through 8th grade.
Originally from Independence, Todd is a 1994 graduate of Independence High School. After graduating high school, he went on to the University of Northern Iowa where he completed his BA in Elementary Education with a minor in math. He graduated from UNI in 1999. Todd will be completing his TAG endorsement from Viterbo University this semester.
Following college, Mr. Reed moved to Marshalltown and was a math teacher for the Marshalltown Community School District. He spent 14 years teaching 4th grade and the last 3 years teaching 7th and 8th grade math.
Reed states, “I look forward to challenging kids in various subject areas to elevate their thinking processes beyond the core of their grade level.”
Todd and his wife Cheri are both happy to be back in Independence. Cheri is the principal at West Elementary. They have 2 children; son Ranger, is in 3rd grade and daughter Isla, is in 1st grade.
When he’s not teaching, Todd enjoys fishing, ice fishing, writing about fishing and being outdoors.
