ICSD Seniors Achieve High NCRC Scores
Recently, Independence Community School District (ICSD) seniors took the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) test. The NCRC is a portable credential that demonstrates achievement and workplace employability skills in Applied Mathematics, Graphic Literacy and Workplace Documents.
The ACT website states that, “The ACT NCRC is a portable, evidence-based credential that certifies the essential skills for workplace success. Employers look for it from job candidates, whether they come directly from high school or through postsecondary paths, because it is a valid predictor of job performance.”
Principal Howard is pleased to share that 100% of the Class of 2019 took the NCRC assessment and nearly 50% of the class scored 15 or more on the test. 23 received a Bronze certificate; 33 received a Silver certificate; 34 received a Gold certificate and 13 received a Platinum certificate. Since making this test a requirement for our seniors in 2015, this is the largest number of students scoring a 12 or better with 79% of the class doing so.
Bronze
Student scores at least a level 3 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational skills for 16% of the jobs in the database.
Silver
Student scores at least a level 4 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational skills for 67% percent of the jobs in the database.
Gold
Student scores at least a level 5 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational skills for 93% of the jobs in the database.
Platinum
