ICSD Seniors Achieve High NCRC Scores
December 14, 2016 (Independence, IA) – Recently, Independence Community School District (ICSD) seniors took the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) test. The NCRC is a portable credential that demonstrates achievement and workplace employability skills in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information.
The ACT website states that, “These assessment areas measure real world skills that employers believe are critical to job success. Test questions are based on situations in the everyday work world. The ACT NCRC was launched in 2006; today more than 2.3 million certificates have been issued.”
Principal Howard is pleased to share that of the 103 seniors who took the NCRC assessment, 16 received a Bronze certificate; 49 received a Silver certificate; 18 received a Gold certificate and 1 received a Platinum certificate. Since making this test a requirement for our seniors in 2015, no one has ever received a Platinum certificate until this year.
