Indee FFA Competes at Sub-Districts
The Independence FFA competed at the SW Sub-District FFA Leadership Career Development Event competition on February 22nd at Hawkeye Community The chapter fielded 1 team event and 5 individual events. Individuals events included Kenzie Fischels in Creed Speaking, Eric Lympus in Extemporaneous Speaking, Keegan Zimmerly in Radio Broadcasting, Joe Kaiser in Ag Sales, and Peighton Prusator in Job Interview. Team events included Chapter Program of Activities which included Marissa Robinson and Megan Corkery.
The different leadership career development events focus on developing students’ ability to speak in public, learn about careers, and create innovative materials and ideas. The top 2 competitors in each category advance to the District FFA competition in Monticello on March 11th. FFA members placing in the top two at Districts advance to the State Competition April 9th-11th in Ames.
