Independence FFA Competes at State Milk Quality

On September 8th, 2018, the Independence FFA Chapter competed in the Milk Quality and Products CDE in Manchester. Team members Greta Aldrich, Delaney Martin, Jaden Schwarting and Alivia Thomas placed 10th overall in the state and earned a silver ranking. The CDE consisted of a general knowledge test on milk production, taste testing milk for defects, cheese identification, somatic cell count, and a written team exam. Team members practice consisted of cheese tasting, milk quality characteristics, and trends in the milk industry.
