Independence FFA Members Participate In Legislative Symposium
On January 31st, seven Independence FFA members traveled to Des Moines to participate in the FFA legislative symposium. These seven members first attended a welcome session at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates. During this session Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey and Libby Crimmings Director of World Food Prize, spoke to the students about the importance of Ag Education and how to approach legislators. After the morning session, the Independence FFA members met with Senator Craig Johnson and Representative Bruce Bearinger. They discussed the importance of Ag Education, and of FFA.
