Independence to Host Cliff Keen Independence Invitational

The Independence Jr/Sr High School will be hosting the 3rd annual Cliff Keen Independence Invitational wrestling tournament. The Cliff Keen Invitational is a 32 man bracket tournament that involves just under 450 wrestlers.

The tournament will take place this Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st at the Jr/Sr High School. This tournament includes 33 teams from Iowa and surrounding states including; Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri and brings hundreds of visitors, shoppers and athletes to Independence.

Keith Donnelly said, “Not only is this a great wrestling event for athletes to compete with the best, but it’s also a great opportunity for the Independence Community School District to showcase their state of the art facilities and bring extra revenue to our local businesses over the next couple days.”
