Kathy Bresnahan Encourages Jr/Sr. High Students to “Live Like Line”

October 22, 2018 (Independence, IA) – The Independence Junior Senior High recently hosted Kathy Bresnahan, former Iowa City West Volleyball coach. Earlier this year, Kathy was portrayed by actress Helen Hunt in the movie The Miracle Season.

Kathy spoke to 7-12th grade students in large groups about reaching out to those in need and perseverance. During her visit, Kathy was also able to speak with the Mustang Volleyball team.

Kathy Bresnahan states, “Line (Caroline) was passionate about life and made the most of every single day and she wanted to take everyone else with her on that ride. She embraced the disenfranchised, the outcasts, and the kids with special needs. She was everyone’s friend.”

Following the tragic loss of Caroline Found in 2011, Bresnahan founded the Live Like Line Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to help students in the Iowa City Community School District who may struggle financially, participate in school activities.

Principal Howard states, “Kathy’s message of positivity, lifting others up, and inclusion certainly resonated with our students and staff. She did an outstanding job of connecting with our students. We were greatly appreciative that she chose to come, and we hope her advice will make a lasting impact at Independence Jr/Sr High School.”
