Local Tennis Groups Make Donations to The Final Push Campaign
June 24, 2015 (Independence, IA) – The Mustang Foundation, Inc. and the Independence Community School District (ICSD) extend their appreciation to the local tennis groups and individuals who made donations to The Final Push Campaign.
The Independence Tennis Couples Association made a donation of $1,000; the Tuesday Night Men’s Tennis Group make a donation of $1,000; and a group of individual players associated with the tennis groups made separate donations as well.
“Our local tennis groups have had a chance to try out the courts and are greatly pleased with the completed project,” stated the tennis group’s representative, John Christensen.
The final surfacing for the new tennis courts, located on the north side of the Jr/Sr High School, is now complete. The courts are surrounded by a chain link fence and have abundant parking nearby. Lights will be installed on one of the courts later this summer; in the future, additional lights will be added.
All projects completed in phase one of The Final Push includes:
- New Turf on Leinbaugh Field
- Six new Tennis Courts
- Additional Parking
Phase two of The Final Push consists of the new baseball and softball fields on the School District’s 92 acres. The desire is to launch construction in July 2015. It will also include another parking lot, which will serve as additional parking for events held at Leinbaugh Field.
To date, the Mustang Foundation, Inc. has received over $1.5 million dollars in pledges (in-kind and cash) for The Final Push Campaign. Donations of all sizes can still be made to the campaign. Pledges can be made over a three year period.
