Mustangs Welcome New Director of School Improvement
August 25, 2016 (Independence, IA) – The Independence Community School District (ICSD) is pleased to welcome Erin Burmeister as the Director of School Improvement.
Burmeister is originally from Chariton, Iowa where she graduated high school. After graduation she went on to Iowa State University where she received her BS in Education. She also completed her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Northern Iowa.
Erin has been in the education field for 12 years. Prior to coming to ICSD, she was a 3rd grade teacher for two years and a 5th grade teacher for five years in La Porte City for the Union Community School District.
In her new role as the Director of School Improvement Burmeister will provide leadership for curriculum, assessment and instruction district-wide. She will also work on the school improvement process, direct, coordinate and supervise all student services and special programs.
Burmeister states, “I’m excited to be a part of the Independence Community School District. I want to enhance learning for all students and staff and be a leader of learning.”
Currently residing in Rowley with her husband and daughters, Erin enjoys reading, spending time with her family, being outdoors and helping on the farm.
