September 9, 2015 (Independence, IA) – The Independence Community School District (ICSD) is delighted to introduce Kylee Winn as the Jr./Sr. High Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher.
Mrs. Winn is originally from Center Point, IA and graduated from Center Point-Urbana High School in 2005. During her years at CPU Winn was involved in volleyball, basketball, softball, choir and show choir. She also served as the class secretary for three years. After her high school graduation, Winn received her Associates Degree from Kirkwood Community College in 2007, then transferred to Iowa State University and graduated in May 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies.
Mrs. Winn has been in the education field for the last 6 years. She has spent the last 6 years at Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids as the Family & Consumer Sciences teacher and the senior class sponsor.
Winn and her husband Jared and have been married for five years. He works at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids and we currently live in Walker. We have three sons, Macoy, 5 who is in Kindergarten, Jordy, 3, and Crosby, 7months. When not chasing her boys around Mrs. Winn enjoys gardening, family road trips, catching the latest episodes of “The Walking Dead,” and “Modern Family,” and cheering on the Green Bay Packers!
Winn states, I’m anxious to get to know as many students as I can and to start building meaningful relationships with them. I want to impact all learners in a positive way and to have fun in class!! I am so excited to become a part of this amazing school district! I’d like to thank my new coworkers for being so enthusiastic and welcoming! Go Mustangs!!”
