Own a Piece of Independence History

September 24, 2015, (Independence, IA) – With the salvaging process complete, demolition on the old high school has officially started. The buildings are expected to be fully removed and the final grading to occur within a couple of weeks.

Bricks and portions of the gymnasium floor will be available
this fall. Bricks with a commemorative nameplate will be available for $25.00 each. Gym floor segments (approximately 8” by 8”) will also be available for $40.00 each. Own a piece of Independence history. Quantities are limited and are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone.

All proceeds from the sale of the bricks and gym floor will go to the Independence Community School District. All items are sold “As Is”. Items will be available for pickup at a designated date, time and location later this fall.

All orders must be prepaid in advance.  A pickup date and location will be publicized this fall.
