Welcome Back
8/25/2021
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome Back!!
We are approaching the start of the 2021-22 school year and we’re excited to have everyone back. As you know, we have had a slight delay to the school year to make sure we are prepared and ready for a safe return for all of our students and staff. It’s been a busy summer with the building project at both East and West Elementary and we are now ready.
Unfortunately, the Covid 19 pandemic has continued to wreak havoc across the state and Buchanan County. As you know, the health and safety of our staff and students is a top priority. Our maintenance and custodial staff have been busy cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing all of our buildings for the upcoming school year. We’ll continue to work with the Buchanan County Public Health and the Iowa Department of Education to minimize the spread of the virus in our classrooms and buildings. Our administrators, school nurses, and staff will stay in communication as needed for your family’s health.
At this time, face coverings cannot be mandated but we do encourage everyone to be proactive and be safe. We support each family’s individual choice and know we’ll continue to work hard to provide a safe environment for all. You can help… if your child is not feeling well or showing symptoms, we ask that you keep your child home from school. I will be posting our county positivity rate and appropriate district covid information every Friday morning on the district’s website at www.indeek12.org
It’s because of your support and the hard work of our staff, we can provide a safe and effective learning environment for all of our students this year. Thank you for all you’ve done and together, we will have another incredible school year.
Go Mustangs!
